External Longitudinal Seam Welders

  • Standard designs have welding lengths ranging from 24” (610 mm) to 240” (6100 mm) and part diameter ranges from 2 5/8” (66 mm) to 32” (800 mm).Custom sizes and designs are available 
  • For seam welding cylinders, tanks, flat sheets with GTAW, PAW, GMAW and SAW processes
  • Standard, Precision and Ultra-Precision versions available 
  • Can be custom built to meet your needs.
  • Side beam track is fitted with hardened ways for smooth precise travel
  • Carriages use hardened bearings or wheels and precision DC motor with tach generator feedback
  • Continuous “toe-touch” tape switches operate the pneumatic finger banks
  • Various speed ranges and speed holding accuracies are available 
  • Copper backing bars and reversible copper finger tips are standard
  • Comes standard with 9627 microprocessor travel control

LWS – Standard Model
  • For welding 0.020” (0.5 mm) to 3/8” (10 mm) thick metals
  • Rack and pinion style carriage drive 
  • Travel accuracy ±0.015”(0.4 mm) per 10 ft (3 m)LWP – Precision Model
  • Designed for welding thin materials from 0.005” (0.1 mm)
  • Side beam track’s linear accuracy is ±0.005” (0.1 mm) per 10 ft (3 m)
  • Rack and pinion style carriage drive 
  • Continuous copper finger strips

LWX – Ultra-Precision Model
  • The best choice for thin gage and precision applications
  • Side beam track’s linear accuracy is ±0.005” (0.1 mm) per 10 ft (3 m)
  • Linear style drive replaces rack and pinion drive to assure ultimate travel accuracy
  • Continuous copper finger strips

  • Various controls (9500, 9900)
